HR Legislation Patch

Posted by appsinfo on March 7, 2010

HR Legislation Patch

The primary goal of post install stpes is to deliver seeded data. Seeded data consists of deduction and earnings elements, formulas, jurisdiction code information, balances, balance classifications, etc.  Without this you will miss basic entities such as the ‘Regular Salary’ and ‘Regular Wages’ elements.

To enable Country Legislation you need to register the country specific driver in your application. Once you have successfully installed Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.1, you need register the legislation using following command.

Set the Application Enviornment $APPL_TOP/APPS<Context_Name>.env

Apply $PER_TOP/patch/115/driver/hrglobal.drv to the database tier. Be mindful to only run the driver located in this directory..
hrglobal.drv driver should be applied as per a normal patch using the adpatch utility.

Once completed you have successfully installed your legislative HRMS data.

Confirm the forms from HR consultant after successfully apply the hrglobal driver.

Splicing IZU TOP for Support Diagnostics

Posted by appsinfo on August 25, 2009

Splicing IZU TOP

For diagnostic patch you need to apply certain other patches and Splice IZU_TOP. Below are the steps that you need to follow while splicing the TOP.

1. Verify that the product is in the database or not

select APPLICATION_ID
       from fnd_application
       where APPLICATION_SHORT_NAME = ‘IZU’

2. 1. Copy the following text files from 3636980 to the admin directory under
   APPL_TOP.

        izuprod.txt
        izuterr.txt
        newprods.txt

Review newprods.txt and verify that the tablespaces listed exist
and are the ones planned for use by this product.
If changes are required, edit the file as appropriate and save it

3. Create tablespace

user_data
user_idx
apps_ts_tool—–create this table becoz this will throw an error
using adsplice

4. Run env and then adsplice

5. check
SQL> select APPLICATION_ID
  2         from fnd_application
  3         where APPLICATION_SHORT_NAME = ‘IZU’;

APPLICATION_ID
————–
           278

From within SQL*Plus, logged in as APPS, run the following:
        select STATUS
        from fnd_product_installations
        where APPLICATION_ID = 278;

This statement should return one row:
   S
   –
   I
6. Set the IZU top in the evniornment file, echo and check the patch
7. Apply 3636980
8. Check the log files

9. Remove standalone RDA if installed into $IZU_TOP/bin/rda
If you have previously installed RDA into the $IZU_TOP/bin/rda directory
by manually extracting it from a zip or tar file, you should remove the rda
directory and its contents from under $IZU_TOP/bin before applying the patch
   unified driver.

Failure to do so could result in an adpatch error similar to this:

Error: Applying rda.cmd to the wrong release:
    Patch  : /PATCH/7530017/izu/bin/rda/rda.cmd, v115.6
   On-Site: /u01/appltop/izu/11.5.0/bin/rda/rda.cmd, v1.4

10. Apply the following unified driver file with AutoPatch:
     u7530017.drv

11. Perform menu and/or responsibility setup as per Note 358831.1

Patch maintenance register

As an DBA you need to apply patches during implementation or support as when required by functional team or technical team or even application object library patches. You need to keep track of patches that have been applied, in this case you need to prepare patch register which will enable you to check for applied patches as on date. Below is the sample patch register. We will not be responsible for any patch failure or any impact on your current application what so ever.

Posted by appsinfo on March 1, 2009

Steps to apply 11i.ATG_PF.H.delta.5 (RUP5)

 Pre-install Steps:

Step 1 Upgrade the RDBMS to Oracle9i Database or higher (Required)

Upgrade your RDBMS to Oracle9i Database before upgrading to 11i.ATG_PF.H.delta.5 (RUP5). Refer Upgrade document OracleMetaLink Note 362203.1

For Windows installations only: Download and apply patches 3095277 and 3380100. Follow instructions in each readme to upgrade the database first to 9.2.0.4 and then to 9.2.0.4 Patch 5.

Step 2 Apply the AD minipack. (Conditionally Required)

Ensure that the you have installed the latest version of AD before proceeding with this patch. At this time the latest version is AD minipack I.4.

·         4712852 – AD: Patch 11i.AD.I.4  or AD.I.6

Step 3 Apply additional prerequisites as needed. (Conditionally Required)

Depending on the baseline of your installation, patches in this section must be applied prior to proceeding with further with the RUP 5 installation steps.

Apply the following patches for all installations:

·         5989593 – AD: 11i: Remove “REVOKE ALL FROM PUBLIC” from ADGRANTS.SQL

·         3218526 – BNE: Patch 11i.BNE.D – Refer to About Web Applications Desktop Integrator Mini-pack 11i.BNE.D, OracleMetaLink Note 287080.1, for installation instructions.

·         4206794 – FRM: Patch 11i.FRM.H – Refer to About Oracle Report Manager Minipack 11i.FRM.H, OracleMetaLink Note 378338.1, for installation instructions.

Step 4 Run the Technology Stack Validation Utility. (Required)

In your operating system file system, navigate to the directory where you have unzipped these Applications Technology Updates.

  •  Establish the needed environment parameters by sourcing the Applications environment file  as the owner of the application tier file system.
  • Ensure “APPLRGF” variable is set in environment. If not, set it to the same value as “APPLTMP”.
  • From the location where this patch was unzipped, change directory to fnd/patch/115/bin.
  • Run the utility as follows:

%ADPERLPRG% txkprepatchcheck.pl -script=ValidateRollup  -outfile=%APPLTMP%\txkValidateRollup.html   -appspass=<apps database password>

Step 5 : Applying this patch 11i.ATG_PF.H.delta.5 (RUP5)

Oracle Applications Technology Updates for 11i.ATG_PF.H.delta.5 (RUP5) contains a unified patch driver to be applied with AutoPatch. Please apply the driver file on all application tier server nodes.

·         u5473858.drv

After you apply this patch…

Post-install Steps

Once you have successfully applied Oracle Applications Technology Updates for 11i.ATG_PF.H.delta.5 (RUP5), you must complete these additional steps. If you completed a task during a previous 11i patch application, then you do not need to complete the step again, unless otherwise instructed.

Step 1 Apply Post-Install Patches. (Required)

Apply the following patch (all releases):

·         3865683 – AD: Release 11.5.10 Products Name Patch

·         6145463 – Support Negative Currency Profile Value ‘(XXX)’

Step 2 Apply Release-Specific Post-Install Patches. (Conditionally Required)

Apply the relevant patches if your installation is on a listed release level.

4619025 – Invalid Package CS_WF_ACTIVITIES_PKG

5368595 – KM Pages Incorrectly Switch to Guest User Responsibility in iSupport Flow

5910548 – Patch for Bug 5879690 Failed – Core HRMS

Step 3 Apply SSO 10g Integration Patch. (Conditionally Required)

This step applies only to those E-Business Suite deployments that are integrated with Oracle Application Server 10g (Single Sign-On and Oracle Internet Directory). If the E-Business Suite deployment is not integrated with Oracle Application Server 10g, you can skip this step.

Do not apply this patch if you want to retain your existing Oracle Login Server 3.0.9 and Oracle Portal 3.0.9 integration. This patch includes libraries that are incompatible with Oracle Login Server 3.0.9.

For this step, apply the following patch:

·         5674941 – 11i.ATG_PF.H RUP5 SSO 10g Integration

This patch delivers an updated Single Sign-On SDK; you will need to de-register and re-register all your SSO partner applications. Please follow Option 3 under “Appendix C: Advanced Configuration – Manual SSO/OID Registration” in the Installation Guide, Metalink Note 233436.1, to de-register the partner applications first and then re-register them again.

If you are integrating the E-Business Suite deployment with Oracle Application Server 10g for the first time, refer to MetaLink Note 233436.1 for detailed instructions.

Step 4 Run Technology Stack script. (Conditionally Required)

If your environment is SSL-enabled, run the following script (for Technology Stack patch 4029076, included in 11i.ATG_PF.H.delta.5 (RUP5):

On Unix:

txkrun.pl -script=InstSSLFix

On Windows:

perl %FND_TOP%\bin\txkrun.pl -script=InstSSLFix

Step 5 : Upgrade Oracle XML Parser for Java v9.0.4 with Oracle Applications 11i. (Required)

Follow the instructions in OracleMetaLink note 271148.1 to configure and apply interoperability patches for Oracle XML Parser for Java v9.0.4.

Step 6 Run AutoConfig. (Required)

Run AutoConfig on the application and database tiers. For instructions on how to run AutoConfig, refer to OracleMetaLink note 165195.1.

Customers using the AutoConfig Customizations feature must merge any customizations with the AutoConfig templates provided via this patch before running AutoConfig.

Step 7 Create APPS_TS_TOOLS Tablespace. (Conditionally Required)

Customers who have migrated to the new Oracle Applications Tablespace Model must create the APPS_TS_TOOLS tablespace, either manually through SQL*Plus or by invoking the Tablespace Migration Utility menu, before running the AD Splicer to introduce a new product schema. For more information, see: Understanding the Tablespace Migration Utility Main Menu, Oracle Applications System Administrator’s Guide – Configuration.

The default initial size for the APPS_TS_TOOLS tablespace is 500 MB, with auto segment management enabled. If you create the APPS_TS_TOOLS tablespace through SQL*Plus, outside of the OATM utility, you can use the following statement:

CREATE TABLESPACE APPS_TS_TOOLS DATAFILE
datafile_name.dbf‘ SIZE 500M
EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL AUTOALLOCATE;

You can override these storage recommendations with storage parameters to suit the expected size required for objects that will be in the Tools tablespace at your site.

Step 8 Disable Default Users. (Recommended)

Step 9 Copy Fonts for Oracle XML Publisher. (Required)

Copy the following font files from $FND_TOP/resource to the /lib/fonts directory (under OA_JRE_TOP and JRE_TOP) on all Web and concurrent nodes. If $FND_TOP/resource does not contain the font files, apply patch 3639533: Albany (Display) Font 4.02 Release.

The font files are:

ALBANYWT.ttf – “single-byte” characters only

ALBANWTJ.ttf – Unicode font with Japanese Han Ideographs

ALBANWTK.ttf – Unicode font with Korean Han Ideographs

ALBANWTS.ttf – Unicode font with Simplified Chinese Han Ideographs

ALBANWTT.ttf – Unicode font with Traditional Chinese Han Ideographs

Please refer to the OracleMetaLink document 240862.1, Install Oracle Unicode Fonts for Dynamic Image Generation in Oracle Applications, for more details.

Step 10 Update Configuration for Dedicated Notification Mailers. (Conditionally Required)

If you have defined any custom notification mailer service components that are dedicated to process only messages from a particular item type, then you must update the correlation ID value for those notification mailers to continue processing messages. You can set the correlation ID in the Define page of the advanced configuration wizard in Oracle Workflow Manager. For each notification mailer, set the correlation ID to the internal item type name followed by a colon and a percent sign in the following format:

<item_type_name>:%

Applying AD.I.6 on 11.5.10.2 in windows 2003 enviornment

System Requirements

Make sure your system meets the following requirements before you begin the process of applying this minipack.

·         Perl executable (5.004 minimum; 5.005 perferred) is set in your PATH before you apply this minipack.

·         FNDLOAD executable

Ensure all application tier server nodes contain the FNDLOAD executable in the $FND_TOP/bin directory. If the executable is not present, apply patch 2684116 on all nodes. When applying AD.I.6 (6502082), apply it on all forms/web server nodes first, and then on the administration server node.

Prerequisites patches

Step 1: If you have already applied this minipack… Apply this patch…

AD minipack H (included in Release 11.5.9) or higher 3464936 (Windows only)

Step 2:  For windows apply 6773659 before applying AD.I.6 patch to ensure that application executable in AD_TOP are updated after you apply AD.I.6 Patch (LS – UNRESOLVED EXTERNAL SYMBOL _STRCASECMP. Note this patch is required before applying AD.I.6

Step 2: Verify that you have implemented the apps.zip architectural change (conditionally required)

Unzip apps.zip under $JAVA_TOP on all application tier nodes, if you have not done so already.

Step 3: Convert to Multiple Organizations (Recommended)

Oracle Applications strongly recommends that you convert to Multi-Org as soon as possible so that you will be prepared for improvements to performance across the E-Business Suite as well as support for Multi-Org Access Control.

For more information, see Release 11i Use of Multiple Organizations in Oracle Applications (OracleMetaLink Document 210193.1).

Step 4: Apply the Minipack AD.I.6 (6502082)

This minipack contains a unified patch driver and may contain additional driver files to be applied with AutoPatch. Apply the unified driver file on all application tier server nodes.

Post-minipack Steps

Step 1: Grant privileges and create PL/SQL profiler objects

Run the adgrants.sql script as a user that can connect as SYSDBA to grant privileges to selected SYS objects and create PL/SQL profiler objects.

copy adgrants_nt.sql (Windows) from %APPL_TOP%\admin to %ORACLE_HOME%\appsutil\admin.

Set the environment to point to ORACLE_HOME on the database server.

Use SQL*Plus to run the script:

Windows:

     C:\> sqlplus /nolog
     SQL> connect / as sysdba
     SQL> @%ORACLE_HOME%\appsutil\admin\adgrants_nt.sql <APPLSYS schema name>

Step 2: Unzip apps.zip under $JAVA_TOP (conditionally required)

If you have already unzipped apps.zip, Run Auto Config else refer (233044.1)

Step 3: Run AutoConfig

If your installation is 11.5.10.2 then you can directly run autoconfig on application tier or if the application is not autoconfig enable refer (OracleMetaLink Document 165195.1)
